Thursday
Cindy picked me up so we could do a “girls” day. We went to a
store called the Old Time Pottery in Port Richey. It is a lot like a
Hobby Lobby with a the addition of lawn and garden furniture and some
kitchen appliances. I admired a cute lighted Flamingo yard ornament.
Cindy surprised me by purchasing it for my birthday. So nice! On the
way back we stopped at Olive Garden for lunch. It was great spending
some time with one of my best friends!

Dennis
and I have both been trying to get in some exercise every morning. He
usually runs and I walk, bike or do a class at the clubhouse.
Unfortunately the gal that usually sets up the videos at the
clubhouse got sick and has not been able to do it anymore. In fact
she will be heading home to Canada on Saturday. We got up early to
get our exercise in because we planned to pick up Gary and Cindy
today to go down to Tarpon Springs to hop on the Jolley Trolley. This
Trolley takes you from Tarpon Springs down to Clearwater. You then
transfer to another trolley that goes to Clearwater Beach. It is a
nice relaxing way to get to Clearwater Beach and you do not have to
worry about parking which is expensive and hard to find.
At
11:00 we got on the south bound trolley at the Tarpon Springs SpongeDock. It was about an hour ride to Clearwater with the Trolley making
multiple stops along the way. Once at the beach we ate lunch at
Frenchy's Rockaway Grill and then strolled on the beach. Then we got
back on the trolley and headed back to Tarpon Springs. We drove
through Dunedin which I would not mind going back to as it looked
like there were a lot of interesting shops. Back at Tarpon Springs we
took the trolley to the west end of Sponge Dock and walked past the
shops on the dock and back to our truck parked at the east end.

Today we went to Brooksville to visit
an Art in the Park event. Brooksville is around a half hour drive
from our park. It was a very nice art show similar to the JMKA event
in Sheboygan with a lot of very nice art work. I purchased a
bracelet. One vendor was selling exotic pitcher plants. Pitcher plants are carnivorous plants which have modified leaves known as
pitfall traps—a prey-trapping mechanism featuring a deep cavity
filled with digestive fluid. They trap insects and absorb them for
food. We thought it would be a good addition to our camper to get rid
of any flying insects inside. Only time will tell!
Saturday night we attended the dance at
the clubhouse. We had a good time and spent most of the evening
talking to our friends Suzanne and Frank.

We
both took a break from our usual morning exercise. However in order to get some steps in we took a walk around the park after breakfast. Our time here is getting
short and we wanted to visit the Lazy Days RV in Tampa so we decided
to take a trip there today. It is located at the intersection of I-75
and I-4 near Tampa. They were having a Spring Ahead sale and had free
hot dogs and soda. Nice! The place was huge and we spent the good
part of 3 hours walking around and checking out all the different
campers and RVs. They have everything from small trailers all the way
up to $300,000 plus motor homes. We are not in the market for
anything but it was fun looking!
