Petrified Forest and Golf

Great day today! Not that they all are not great. Today we went to the Mississippi Petrified Forest Park in Flora. We had stopped there on the way south last Sunday in the hopes we could camp there. The only site they had left was too small for us so we ended up at LaFleur's Bluff State Park. Today we went back to check out the museum and nature trail. Saw lots of petrified logs which was really neat. Some of the trees must have been really huge.

On the way back to the campground we stopped at a Walmart to pick up a few items. I bought a Ozark Trial insulated mug. Sheila told me she has one and they really keep cold liquid cold and hot liquid hot. I will try it out over the next few days.

Back at the camper we had a bite to eat then went to the Lefleur's Bluff State Park golf course. The cost was $14 for nine holes including cart and tax. It was a very nice course although not in great condition as it is winter. Would be really fun to play once it greens up.

Back at the camper we relaxed by the lake for a while. Then chatted with the neighbors and the campground host. I asked him for a restaurant recommendation. He suggested the Hickory Hut for B-B-Q or El Charro for Mexican. We decided to go to the El Charro. The food was good and the margaritas even better. It was still happy hour so I had two!

We leave tomorrow to continue our journey south. Not really sure where we will end up. Stay tuned!
